Windows 7 Beta & RC Milestone Archive

A log of notable pre-release builds leading up to the final Gold Release (Build 7600).

· Build 6801 (Pre-Beta): Demonstrated at PDC 2008. Featured an early implementation of the new taskbar, though many features were locked.

· Build 7000 (The Beta): Released in early 2009. This was the first official public beta build and was incredibly stable for pre-release software.

· Build 7100 (Release Candidate): The definitive RC build. This is where the iconic default desktop wallpaper made its debut.
